About The Doula

My passion for helping women with their birth experience started after the birth of my son. After many unnessecary interventions during labor, which resulted in a c-section, I knew that there had to be a better way, that something HAD to be done to help women through something that seemed to be so natural. I started researching everything I could get my hands on. I attended classes and seminars…I couldnt get enough information. Then one day it hit me: “I have to be a Doula”. This was my calling…helping women and babies come into this world on THEIR terms. A woman carries her birth experience with her for the rest of her life, and i wanted to make sure that she was armed and ready to make well informed decisions about her body and her baby.
I have been a doula for almost two years now and I am currently training through DONA (Doulas of North America) to become a DONA Certified Doula. Although I have many births and references behind me, I would love to have an amazing organization such a DONA to back up my doula skills and education.

I am a natural, cloth diapering parent and baby wearer, I have been wearing Baylin from day one and continue to do so at two years old. I enjoy teaching clients about babywearing and introducing them to many types of carriers.
I am a member of the Frederick County Birthing Circle, Attachment Parenting International (Frederick Chapter), and Frederick Mommies.
I am a certified Lactation Educator , and a local EcoMom Leader for my community and an Attachment Parenting Leader Applicant.
I am the owner of The Boobie Bib nursing covers, and also in the process of starting an online natural parenting boutique which I co-own and design with a friend…Dharma Mama!
